Welcome, and thank you for considering therapy to support a change in your life!
One of my favorite visuals for change is thinking about turning an airplane around in a different direction while it is on the ground waiting for take off. It can certainly be done, but it takes time, patience and coordination between the pilot, air traffic control, and those giving direction on the ground. I see my role as a therapist as someone you can collaborate with, someone who can take a birds eye view and support you in seeing new directions to take while you remain in the pilot’s seat.
I have worked as a licensed social worker for over 20 years and have extensive experience working with children and families across a variety of settings, including child welfare agencies and school social work.
In treatment I look forward to joining with you in learning what is already working for you, your child or your family and how we can lean into your strengths. Using methods from solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy I hope to help you find a new path, or change directions for the next part of your journey.
